We signed up to FC following a recommendation from several founders I met through startup networks. You and your documents are in safe hands - the real bonus is being able to ask loads of questions and get support on so many random things that aren't directly documentation but necessary for a raise (eg how do you write a valuation document, what do you include in your data room, disclosure). You can ask these both from FC and the FC founder community.

My initial funding round has involved a foreign investor with stringent compliance procedures - this has resulted in lots of back and forth. The level of service you receive is not in line with how much you pay. Typical SaaS businesses will take your payment and offer no support but I would argue you receive a lot more support and service than you pay for. Sam is a wealth of knowledge as well

I switched from SeedLegals to FounderCatalyst which has proved both cheaper and the customer service is infinitely better. Everything is included in the one off fee so you aren't hit by extra fees you don't expect. The team includes ex founders and investors so you get both technical and tactical support, which wasn't the case with SeedLegals. Completing your first funding round can be a daunting undertaking with so many unknowns. You don't know what you don't know.
