This guide is organised by where you can make changes on the platform. In each area you’ll see what can be changed, how to do it, and any important notes.
Important:
Some changes can only be made before a shareholder/investor accepts their invite. After acceptance, they must log in and update their own details.
Company details on FounderCatalyst should match your Companies House records.

Update the relevant fields
Save changes
Navigate to My Account Settings → Signature
Draw your signature or upload a PNG/JPEG image

Navigate to My Account Settings → Security
Enter your new password

If you get an error, your current password is incorrect. Use the Forgot Password link to reset it.
Before invite accepted:
Update a shareholder’s personal details (by removing and re‑adding them)
Update shareholding details (by removing and re‑adding them)
After invite accepted:
At any time:
Remove a shareholder
Check invite status (via People section — see below)
Check Invite Status

Locate the person in the list
Status icons:

Update Personal Details (before invite accepted)

Locate the shareholder
Click More Options (three dots) → Delete Shareholder and confirm


Go to Cap Table
Click More Options (three dots) → Delete Shareholder and confirm


Enter the split ratio in the format 1 : X (e.g., 1 : 10,000)
Confirm and review the updated cap table carefully

Once your funding round has been completed, your cap table becomes locked to prevent accidental changes. This ensures the integrity of shareholder records.
If you need to make an amendment at this stage:
Download your current cap table as a CSV file
Make the required changes directly in the CSV.
Send the updated CSV to FounderCatalyst Support via a ticket.
Our team will then apply the approved changes for you.

Enter the new name (must match Companies House)
Click Save
Go to Company Dashboard → Company
Click Edit in Registered Address

Enter the updated address (ensure Companies House is updated too)
Click Save
Note: If documents are already in signing, cancel the signing process, update bank details, then restart signing.
Go to Company Dashboard → Company
Click Edit in General Company Details

Scroll to Bank Details and update
Click Save
Go to Company Dashboard → Company
Click Edit General Company Details
Update the Nominal Value field
Click Save
Keeping this accurate ensures certificates, filings and documents remain compliant.
When to add a new share class
To address unique requirements for founders, employees, or investors
To structure specific rights (voting, dividends, liquidation preferences)
Tip: Stick to ordinary shares unless additional rights are essential - overcomplicating share structures can deter investors.
How to add a new share class on FounderCatalyst
Go to Company Dashboard → Company
Scroll down and click Add Share Class


Ensure all stakeholders are informed and approve the updated legal structure
Click Save
If not using FounderCatalyst paperwork
If FC didn’t create your AoA/SSA or you want to keep existing docs, you can still add classes — but if you don’t already have a non‑voting class, this will need addressing separately.

Changes here are limited.
View invite status (pending/complete)
Update certain founder details (e.g., founder salary, expense limits, holiday allowance)
Revoke access to the platform


Orange Envelope = invite pending
Green Checkmark = onboarding complete

You can edit all round details (paperwork balance, dates, valuation, etc.) as often as you like until the round is locked.

Personal details can’t be changed — the investor must update their own profile.
You can still edit investment details (amount, share class, notes) at any time during the round by using the Edit button under the Actions column.

Check invite status:
In the Email Sent column:
Green envelope = invite sent
(blank) = not yet invited
